dpi - A friendly, helpful and supportive yearbook creation service – collecting your thoughts AND adding to your personal portfolios and CVs.
dpi offers a very flexible and friendly service – so you can choose what kind of book you want, and how you want to work – and we will give you all the help and support you need.
ALL our books are printed on environmentally friendly materials, and printed and finished to a high standard, giving you a quality yearbook to keep and treasure.
Sizes
Choose from full size A4 or A5 books.
A4 is a good size for a large yeargroup – for example, a whole school or graduating year - or where you have lots of pictures and text.
A5 books can be good for smaller yeargroups - like 6th forms, or where each student might want their own page.
Styles
Paperback (magazine style). Books with soft covers, saddle-stitched with 2 staples through the spine (like most magazines).
This has the advantage of being the simplest and least expensive style of book, but needs to be looked after more carefully if it is to last and still look good.
Paperback (perfect bound). Books with soft covers, glued on to give a square spine. These are slightly more expensive, but sit better on a shelf.
Our paperback books all have laminated covers for strength and to keep them clean.
Hardback (leather-look covers, with gold or silver stamped on the front). A good-looking book, classically bound for a very long life.
Hardback with printed covers – A slightly more expensive casebound book, with covers printed with photographs, etc. of your choice. The covers are laminated for protection and to keep their good looks.
All our hardback books are section-sewn, with square-section spines. This means they open flat without pages falling out. (The simplest way to tell if a book is section sewn is to look for the threads – usually on the centre pages of a 16 page section – so, pages 8 & 9 should have the sewing thread visible.)
dpi casebound (hard-covered) books are bound by craft bookbinders for strength, appearance and durability.
dpi can also produce wire-0, or spiral bound books, plus specials and extras such as personalisation – see below
